The Madison Theatre

Covington, Kentucky

This 1350-seat theatre will replace the former Madison which was destroyed by fire in the fall of 1944. Situated in the heart of the business district of this city of 100,000, it provides an auditorium level seat ing 1000 and a balcony seating 350. The general style of architecture is classic modern.



The front elevation will depend entirely on peach and blue terra cotta, with a massive center tower of illuminated glass brick forming the center of interest. Capping the tower in script neon will be the theatrels name. The marquee spreads out below the tower and will provide visual support to the three massive wings

BELOW THE MARQUEE AN ESPECIALLY LARGE TICKET BOOTH WILL BE PROVIDED, FLANKED ON EITHER SIDE BY STRUCTURAL GLASS DOORS. THE UNDER-MARQUEE AREA WILL BE HEAVILY LIGHTED IN TRIANGULAR SETS.
