0n the next few pages are illustrated a few of the current projects of one of the most active of the theatre architects in the South and Southwest. That these theatres are not rosy dreams but cinemas which definitely will be built is attested by the ownership, costs, and descriptions captioning each.

This new construction is keeping pace with the industrialization and population growth of the areas

served, so that big things can be expected from it.

Fortunately climatic conditions are relatively mild, and the fumes and dirt of the large cities need not be taken into consideration, so that the use of stucco and other money-saving materials considerably reduce both first costs and exterior maintenance. This is reflected in all of the cost estimates, but the idea

value exhibited is worthy of note.
