Since it is the largest segment of the entire entertainment field, playing to more cash customers each day than all other parts put together, it is only logical that theatre-industry planning should gradually expand into contemporary ventures. Where plot area permits, there is a certain efliciency to he acquired by pooling the patron services, patrOn attractions, qualities, and even some of the physical overhead of heating, air-conditioning, and night lighting, with kindred ventures, such as bowling alleys, ice skating rinks, night clubs, and so forth.

In the following sketches are several examples of proposed recreation centers which will have appeal to more than just motion-picture audiences.
