An extra convenience provided in many womenls toilet room enclosures is a handy utility shelf which may be lowered across the door to hold a purse and packages. Since the shelf must be closed before exit, it compels removal of. all articles and nothing can be forgotten. Also, each enclosure should contain a toilet paper cabinet as well as a coat and hat hook.


For years the urinal has been a matter of concern in public and semi-public toilet rooms. Many surveys and studies were made of unsanitary and objectionable conditions arising from such installations. From this research AmericanStandard has developed the Expello urinal. It is constructed of vitreous china for maximum sanitation and comes in wall mounted models, as do lavatories and water closets. The Expello is designed to function like a water closet, having a large outlet to insure complete flushing. Stoppages common in other types of urinals are eliminated by this outstanding feature. In each menls toilet room at least one urinal should be installed at a lower height to accommodate children. A height of 14 inches is recommended.


Along the line of special installations for children, lavatories and water closets, too, may be placed lower for the particular use of children. The same models of fixtures may be used, the difference being that they are hung lower on the walls.
