The Riverview Theatre

Norfolk. Virginia

Designed as a comfortable neighborhood theatre, seat spacing is 38 inches and seat width 21 inches. Because the 700-seat auditorium parallels the main street allowing for several large stores, the usual problem of an L-shaped project was encountered and pleasingly solved. The oval shaped foyer is the key to this solution for it not only sets a note of luxury back of the standee area, with a better traffic

flow; but accommodates the utility features of menis and ladies9 lounge rooms, entrance to the second floor cryroom or private theatre, and a prominent location for the candy counter. As the lead theatre for a small circuit, note the executive ofiices will be located on the second floor, with their own private entrance, while the house manageres oliice is off

the lobby.

BRIGHTLY COLORED PORCELAIN ENAMEL, COMBINED WITH STRUCTURAL GLASS, WILL PROVIDE A FRONT WHICH IS ACTUALLY ONE LARGE SIGN. THE SIMPLE PYLON EFFECTIVELY DISPLAYS THE UPRIGHT SIGN.
