The Lelani Theatre

Honolulu, Hawaii

Due to their strategic importance and the probability that a tremendous flow of commerce will continue to pass through them in the post-war era, there are many new theatres planned for the Hawaiian Islands.

One of the most prominent is this 1,500-seat modern first run, which is planned for the heart of the business section of Honolulu.

The lavish treatment of the oval foyer and mezzanine lounge connected by a sweeping grand stair l

case, is designed to impress the people of many races with its luxurious appointments. Direct access from the street to the foyer will carry the selling qualities of this treatment to the casual passer-by, as well as awe the incoming patron. Separate toilet and rest rooms are provided on both the auditorium and balcony floors.

The auditorium is designed for perfect sound,

with acoustically treated curved walls replacing the usual standee rail.
