g The State Theatre

Shafter, California

Designed for a small town in a rural community, '

this compact little 500-seat theatre will be economically constructed, but will provide the maximum in patron luxury and patron comfort.

Of interest in the plan, is the manner in which the circular foyer has been brought close to the street, thus to provide direct entrance doors without Acting as the key to the entire plan, it is easy to visualize the decorative motif and furnishings that will make this foyer attractive and inviting. A large and attractive lounge

the usual inner lobby.

entered through a draped arch will provide a community waiting room and traffic overflow between shows; while the normal toilet and rest rooms and an interesting box-office location, radiate from the circle. While the plan shows no specific locations for the desirable candy counter and drinking fountain, many effective locations are possible.

It is planned to make the auditorium very simple with decorative accent on the stage proscenium.

All equipment rooms will be on the projection room level.
