PYRAMID Beaumont, Tex.

Opened July 28, 1950, the Pyramid is undoubtedly one of the most unusual drive-ins to open in recent years.

A pyramid of stainless steel serves as a facade for the screen. The brace of the tower supports the picture side, and the angle of the pyramid breaks the wind valence on the opposite side. Entire screen tower is painted in bright, contrasting colors over transite and aluminum.

A holdout area for '75 cars is provided off the entrance drive, and seating for 200 walk-in patrons is supplied.

Two other important assets are an attractive snack bar and a playground.
