GENEVA San Francisco, Calif.

Built on the site of a former midget auto race track, the Geneva was opened June 15, 1950. Top product is shown 28 days after downtown San Francisco runs for an adult admission of 75c.

A dominant feature at the entrance to this'unique drive-in is a gigantic attraction board with 17", 10", and 4" colored plastic letters.

The steel grandstand inside, which formerly was occupied by noisy auto racing enthusiasts, is now used as seating space for walk-in patrons or others.

Under the grandstand are tucked the projection booth, refreshment stand, and rest rooms. Their arrangement is both ingenious and compact.

Since the distance from the booth to the screen, which is built on the center of the outside fence, is about one-tenth of a mile, a serious projection problem, aggravated by a misty fog blowing in from the bay nearby, was present at first. It was solved, however, with powerful carbons and a new 4-inch lens.
