NORTHWOOD Baltimore, Md.

Part of a large suburban shopping center with parking accommodations for 1,000 cars, the Northwood was opened August 5, 1950. First-neighborhood-run pictures are shown at an adult admission scale of 44c to a white-collar populace of approximately 100,000.

A unique feature is a large sign tower in front of the type usually found only at drive-ins. The face of the facade itself is marble with glass entrance doors.

These lead into a lobby whose walls are hung with prominent display frames, and hence on into a richly carpeted foyer with paneled walls and an inviting candy bar at one side.

The decor of the auditorium is simple with shades of brown, green, and strawberry. Modernistic figures on the walls furnish the only decorative elements.

Special assets, in addition to the parking area, include a physicians' call box in the foyer, free checking facilities, and hearing aids.
