SHORE Huntington, L. l., N. Y.

An important element in a modern.

shopping center with ample parking facilities, the Shore was opened April 8, 1950. The patronage served is a well-todo, middle-class suburban one.

The colonial front is of red brick, lime stone, and white wood with crab orchard '

stone trim around the stainless steel boxoffice. A protective canopy replaces the usual marquee, and large poster cases are used in lieu of attraction boards.

Entering patrons pass through a broad lobby with green plaster walls above marble bases and a colored flagstone floor into a large foyer. The walls here are also green above pickled oak wainscoting, while the ceiling is off-white. Carpeting is a leaf pattern of red on gray.

The foyer staircase, at the left of which is a candy stand near the turn into the auditorium, leads to a luxurious mezzanine lounge that forms a curving corridor around the ments and women's rooms
