the exterior surface is cement plaster, defects must first be pointed up and sanded smooth, and one coat of FlexSheet Mirror Primer applied. One gallon of primer covers about 300 square feet of surface.

Flex-Sheet should not be applied over solid lumber, for even kiln-dried lumber will Warp with the mirror sheeting cemeted to one side, and serious damage to the decorative facing will result. For this reason, soft insulation board also is unsatisfactory.

Preparing the Surface

For best results in installing FlexSheet, it is essential that the surface to which it is to be applied be perfectly

smooth, and, in many cases, the surface will require careful preparation. If the surface is plaster, all holes and cracks must first be pointed up with Swedish putty or spackle, then sanded to remove grit and provide an even face. Wallpaper, calcimine fiat paint, or fiaked paint must be removed. Lead and oil paint which is securely bonded to the plaster need not be removed, but the paint should first be tested to see that the Flex-Sheet Mirror Cement, which holds the strips of mirror in position, will adhere to it firmly. After the wall is prepared, one coat of Flex-Sheet Mirror Primer is applied to it.

With paneled walls, it will be necessary to point up all joints and line the

panels up true and smooth. If the surface is tile, special care must be taken to have the pointing or spackle coating make a true, uniform surface. Plywood, being absorbent, must have one coat of primer when used for exteriors; for plywood used indoors, any good sealer is satisfactory. Flex-Sheet is applied to the rough side of plyxvood and presdwood. Steel, presdwood, tempered board, and other non-absorbent materials do not need a primer coat. The purpose of the primer is to prevent the essential waterproofing ingredients in Flex-Sheet Mirror Cement from being absorbed into
