ABC DRIVE-IN Oxon Hill, Md.

Only three miles away from Washington, D. C., this 750 car drive-in draws most of its patronage from a large metropolitan area, and has been operating on a year around basis.

Located on a 12 acre site, this theatre has the space in which to cater to patron desires. The concession building is 45 by 55 feet. The interior has been attractively done in knotty pine creating a clean and cheerful atmosphere. In order to handle the crowds most efficiently, the concession building uses a counter with duplicate equipment on each side so that two lanes may be served at the same

time. There is a separate counter to handle the sale of ice cream.

The boxofiice has been constructed of brick pillars in pink, green, red, yellow, and blue all worked together into one lively color scheme. There are two lanes of trafiic, with provisions in back of the cashier to sell popcorn, candy, etc.

Instead of installing the usual type of fence around the boxofiice, exits, and entrance, the owners have put in a fence of pine trees.

Included among some of the other features of this outdoor theatre are a small patio and a fully equipped playground. This playground equipment includes 12 swings, a merry-go-round, two slides, and other rides aimed at pleasing the younger set.
