The Elysee plays the best international productions. Features such as the luxurie ous lobby, rows of seats in different colors, the auditorium ceiling which looks like a dying saucer, indirect lighting, and an impressive front makes this an outstanding house.

The Studio

The Studio, in Dusseldorf, was opened December, 1953, and has a seating capacity of 220. The theatre plays first-run product, and is considered to be one of the most modern theatres in the city. It is equipped with a CinemaScope size screen, and its two Zeiss Ikon projectors are equipped for optical and magnetic sound.

An unusual feature of the Studio is a bar which has been built in the rear of the auditorium. It is separated from the audience by a glass wall. This wall is equipped with a loudspeaker making it possible to stay at the bar and see and hear the iilm. There are also several

loudspeakers fixed in the bar to give a stereophonic sound illusion.

The bar, as well as the rest of the auditorium has its own special heating and air conditioning systems. The main auditorium has a gas heating system, while the bar is warmed by an electrical heating system.

The color scheme in the auditorium is black walls, lilac-colored seats and a silver curtain. On the left side, the wall is covered with the same material as the curtain. The very attractive color effect is improved by the indirect lighting.
